As we age, our feet require more care to remain healthy and often it becomes increasingly more difficult to care for them. Diabetics often suffer from edema, neuropathy or a loss of feeling the feet and legs. Poor Circulation causes pain or a loss of normal color to the feet, legs and toes. Calluses become thick, cracked and painful often leaving one at risk for ulcers or wounds that will not heal. Each part of the body needs flow of blood to bring oxygen and nutrients to them. Deep Muscle Stimulations increases the flow of blood to parts of the area being treated via muscle to muscle contractions. Foot care begins with a thorough health record and the assessment of a client's feet. We inspect the skin carefully for atrophy, corns, calluses, cracks, ulcers and other issues. Our foot care specialists are trained to identify the need for more specialized treatments for conditions such as infection, peripheral vascular disease, ulcers or diabetes. We can also help those with thick, over grown nails or calluses that can be difficult to treat. Our foot care service is ideal for individuals experiencing physical limitations, such as poor vision or arthritis. What Can I Expect During A Foot Care Treatment? During a foot care treatment, each patient is tested for sensation by a Feet Plus trained technician in order to determine wheather or not neuropathy has set in. Each patient is treated to a whirlpool session to relax the feet and to soften the skin. Immediately after the whirlpool session the patient's nails, ingrown nails, corns and calluses are trimmed and filed smooth, then a massage to the feet is given by a trained technician followed by a paraffin dip of feet and ankles to seal in the moisture. sitemap.xml sitemap html
